We kept the layout similar to last year’s website, but shifted a few things around. Most of what was moved went to the Planning Resources page in the To Dos section, such as the detailed event schedule and information about name tags and dress guidelines.
There are several great improvements for this year. Be sure to review all changes on the Registration Information page, but here is a quick snapshot of the changes:
- EAST programs can bring additional students AND chaperones for $50 per person
- Updated image release form and processes to complete the form
- Improved onsite registration processes - more details coming soon!
- ALL name tags and barcodes will be printed onsite at registration
Documentation Team - Live Stream Operator
Thanks to the help of the EAST program at Southside High School, we were able to provide a really great live stream of our 2017 EAST Conference General Sessions and the Tech Support Olympiad. This lead us to create a new position on the Documentation Team - Live Stream Operators. These students will manage the technical aspects for live streaming this year’s General Sessions, and they will coordinate with the Social Media Reporters to do live broadcasts on the Exhibit Hall floor and other areas of Conference. Check out the guidelines for the Live Stream Operator position for more information and a link to the application.
EAST Conference Logo
Schools are encouraged (but not required) to adapt this year’s Conference logo as they develop their own individual theme and designs for Conference. Vector files are available on the EAST Initiative website, as well as on the Planning Resources page.
One of our big goals for this year is to significantly enhance the breakout session opportunities, particular the presentation style sessions. We want these presenters to share their experiences, show what is possible, and to inspire our EAST students and facilitators to exceed the everyday. The complete breakout session schedule, including registration dates, will be shared closer to Conference.
We are hard at work trying to finalize the Student Competitions and will have those posted as soon as possible. Our team has spent a lot of time updating some of the competitions from last year and developing a few new ideas for this year. As always, our goal is to provide competitions that directly relate to the EAST projects that students are already working on in their EAST classrooms. We are also working closely with each competition host to ensure that all winners receive a really awesome prize.
